Winner, The Norwegian Film Critics Award – Swan Song

Pat Pitsenbarger (Udo Kier) is a retired hairdresser. One day he leaves the retirement home to do a new hair assignment for one of his old customers. A rich and recently deceased lady, who needs some hair care in connection with her funeral. Pat reminisces about his flamboyant glory days. At the retirement home, he has felt empty and lost, but when he finally gets out, the vibrant energy wakes up again. You’ve never seen Udo Kier in a role like this. He rocks the “look” with mascara, lipstick, Cinderella shoes, rings and fedora. Swan Song is lifted by the fabulous lead role and reflects on the gay environment, both in the past and present. All with a twinkle in the eye.
