The famous Norwegian photographer Per Maning has followed his friend Thorvald Steen with his camera for 25 years. Thorvald is active as a public speaker, author and cultural communicator. As an author, he has published over 40 literary works. Everything from children’s books to poetry collections. Thorvald unfortunately suffers from a rare type of muscular dystrophy. The horrible disease causes a gradual and irreversible paralysis of his body. The muscles gradually break down. Nevertheless, Per Maning highlights that it has not stopped Thorvald’s commitment. In this documentary, he talks about society and the meaning of life. Through Thorvald’s sense of humor, this documentary paints an intimate, touching and poetic picture of an unusual life.
