Skies of Lebanon

In the 1950’s, the young Alice leaves mountainous Switzerland for the sunny and lively Mediterranean city of Beirut in Lebanon. There, she falls madly in love with Joseph, a strange astrophysicist who wants to send the first Lebanese citizen into space. Alice quickly fits into this environment but after many years of happiness, the gunfires start in 1975. The civil war in Lebanon is underway. Skies of Lebanon is a heartwarming and stylistic film that combines several film techniques. Everything from animation to theater art. And it does so to tell a charming and poetic story, rooted in loss and violence.
