Fisherman’s Friends
The film is based on a true story about Port Isaac´s Firsherman´s Friends, a group of Cornish firshermen from Port Isaac who were signed by Universal Records and achieved a top 10 hit with their debut album of traditional sea shanties.
The film tells how Danny (Daniel Mays), who works on a record label, randomly hears them singing and decides that he will publish them on record. However, this turns out to be very different from what Danny expects, as he stays in the village and get introduced to the pleasant life of the sleepy fishing village.
