The 48th Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund will take place from August 14 – 21. The festival team is hard at work planning an eventful – while different – festival edition. The Amanda Awards will kick off the festival on Friday August 14, this year being broadcast in a new and exciting way on both TV and radio: NRK2 and P2. The official festival opening is on Saturday August 15, with film screenings taking place from Friday.
As always, the festival offers eventful days of exciting film, industry events, and social gathering – all within current restrictions for health and safety.
New Nordic Films will see its 26th edition begin at August 18, lasting until the closing ceremony on August 20. The closing ceremony will also be the award ceremony for this year’s festival awards, before the closing film marks the official end of the festival.
The festival is dedicated to making this year’s edition a safe space where current guidelines for social distancing and hygiene are being followed. Still, we have to face the reality of the situation, and know that thing might still change. Should we have to cancel parts of, or the entire festival, the accreditation fee and event fees will be entirely refunded.
As guidelines might affect capacity on many of our regular events, please note that both screenings and other festival events might be fully booked earlier than usual. We therefore encourage you to sign up now if you want to secure a space at a given event. We look forward to hosting a great, yet different edition of the Norwegian International Film Festival, and hope to see you in Haugesund in August!
