Welcome to a special festival day at the beautiful island Utsira!  The screening is a co-operation between Bygdekinoen and the Norwegian International Film Festival.

Utsira is Norway’s smallest municipality located in the North Sea, an hour’s boat ride west of Haugesund. The screening will take place in the new culture house Sirakompasset. The boat Utsira AS leaves the quay at 10:30 AM and arrives at idyllic Utsira 11:40. Once there you can peruse the street art appearing in various places on the island, before lunch is served at Dalanaustet. There will also be enough time after the film screening to get a tour of the Utsira lighthouse, and to go exploring on your own.

Throughout the festival, you can buy a ticket that includes boat from Haugesund to Utsira and back, catering, tour of the Utsira lighthouse and film screening at Sirakompasset. 100 tickets including the boat ride and 100 tickets for the screening only will be made available.

This year’s film: Portrait of a Lady on Fire
A gorgeously shot, moving love story about undeniable connection and independence, this instant classic from director Céline Sciamma was a clear favourite at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival. Set in rough, but beautiful settings much like the Utsira landscape, Portrait of a Lady on Fire is an unforgettable masterpiece that will move you to your core.
